Are you aware of the involvement from the Church in the night time economy? Have you heard of Street Pastors and Street Source?

Since 2003 an organisation called 'Street Pastors' started to support all those who who visit our busy vibrant night time centres, whether they go out to celebrate or commiserate. They're not out there to convert people but help, love, care and listen.

Currently there are 11000+ Street Pastors working in 280+ locations across the UK. And they operate in Sleaford from Riverside Church on most Saturday evenings (10:30pm to 2am)

Why?

Because we care about the people of Sleaford. We care about those who have been in the pubs and clubs and want a safe place to wait for a taxi or a lift home. We care about those who need to use the toilet. We care about those who want a cup of coffee before they leave the town centre. We care about those who might have had a row with a friend or partner and need someone to talk to. We care about anyone who just wants to come in and sit down for a while.

Street Source offers all of this and more. Staffed by a team of volunteers from across the town's churches, all are welcome to drop in. We're currently short of helpers, so we can't actually open every week. If you'd like to help, or join the team, or find out more, please contact Jem Green on our contacts page.
