Ministries

Riverside Church exercises a number of ministries, both spiritual and social, on a regular basis, as well as some occasional or one-off activities.  Some of our ministries are aimed at building up members of the fellowship for further service.  Other activities are aimed at reaching members of the wider community - either in simple service borne of love or evangelistically, sharing with them the Good News of Jesus Christ.

One of our key ministries to the community is found in The Source Multi Use Centre.  The Source is part of a network of Multi use Centres in Lincolnshire (this link opens in a new browser tab/window).

The new frontage to our building enables a new project - "Late Night Source."  We open the building from 10pm to approx 2:30am on Saturday night/Sunday morning to provide a safe place for people to gather and wait after a night in the pubs and clubs of Sleaford.  A warm welcome, hot tea and coffee and clean toilets await those who drop in.

As a church, we believe that the key to our growth (numerically and spiritually) is through our small groups.  We currently have three groups - two that meet weekly in church members' homes, and a third that meets fortnightly at the church.

Whilst a huge amount of our mid-week work is with youths and children, we don't by any means forget the older members of our fellowship.  From September 2008 a group is being formed, called "All Rounders."  This is a new development for the group which used to be called The Guild, and more information about All rounder is available here.
